Jim began coaching his five younger brothers at the age of 16, and went on to coach his own six children and five of his grandchildren. He has coached boys and girsl of all ages and levels within Genesee County. Jim has coached in Bentley, Carman-Ainsworth, Swartz Creek, St. Mary's-Swartz Creek and the Michigan School for the Deaf. In 2000, Jim founded and organized the Fenesee County Alternative High School Tournament. In 1998 Jim was inducted into the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan's Hall of Honor. Jim's most recent contribution to the sport is his development of B-ball. It is a co-ed clinic style introduction to the fundamentals of basketball and is most beneficial to children K-3rd grade.
